Born Oct. 2, 1928, in Hot Coal, he was the son of the late Virgil and Pearl McGraw Lusk Rutherford.
Mr. Rutherford was a 21-year resident of Maben, serving in the military during the Korean Conflict, including three years with the U.S. Navy and three years with the U.S. Army. He was a laborer with a gas chemical company and also worked in sheet metal. Mr. Rutherford had been disabled since 1971.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tanya Daniels; a son, Timothy Rutherford; and a sister, Lois Morgan.
Survivors include his companion of 21 years, Juanita Morgan of Maben; a daughter and four sons.
Burial in the Pierpoint Cemetery, Pierpoint.
