Henry William "Fox" Ballard, age 79, life resident of Saline County, died January 1 at his home. He was a Justice of the Peace of Saline County for many years. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elda Bunch Ballard, one son, Hubert Ballard of Houston, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Grace Poole of Little Rock, Mrs. Sadie Wright and Mrs. Louise Derrick, both of Benton; 15 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2;30 Friday at Sharon Baptist Church by the Rev. Burl Ziegler and Elder Fred Harvill and burial will be at Sharon Cemetery. Pallbearers were Roy Wright, Glen McVay, Horace Lee Mangrum, Ted Nalley, Rowland Ballard, and Gene Ballard. (from the Benton Courier, January 9, 1964, page 5A)
