TAYLOR Esther K., 81, died Fri Feb 16, 2007 at Hospice Care Center. Born in Beverly, KY, she was a daughter of Millard and Myrtle Kinningham Knuckles. Mrs. Taylor was a graduate of the University of Kentucky. She was a member of the U.K. marching band, a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, and the Moonlight Girl of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity. Mrs. Taylor was employed by the Kentucky Department of Vocational Rehabilitation for 38 years. She first worked as a counselor with physically disabled persons to provide services that would enable them to return to gainful employment. In 1965, she was appointed State Coordinator for the Vocational Rehabilitation/Social Security Reimbursement Program. In this program, Social Security reimbursed Kentucky Vocational Rehabilitation for those Social Security beneficiaries who were provided services by KY VR and as a result were able to return to gainful employment. After retirement from State Government she worked with her son at his business for 11 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Redwood Taylor, Jr.; three nieces, Karen Blatt (Bob) Silver Spring, MD, Donna Thompson (Gary) Radcliff, KY and Kimberly Dearing (Mike) Lexington, KY; nephew, Donald Durham, Jr. Atlanta, GA; four great nieces, Christy Nanna (Greg) Ashburn, VA, Rebecca Eilers, (Kevin), Louisville, KY, Wendy Thompson, Louisville, KY and Hanna Dearing, Lexington, KY; three great nephews, Peter Chagalis (Kerry), Westminster, MD, Travis Thompson, Louisville, KY and Nicholas Childs, Lexington, KY; two great- great nieces and nephews, Elizabeth and George Chagalis, Regan Eilers and Nicholas Christopher Nanna; and a host of other cousins and friends. Two sisters, Helen Knuckles and Jean Knuckles Durham preceded her in death.

Services 11:30am Mon at W.R. Milward Mortuary-Southland conducted by Rev. Billy Ray Jennings. Entombment at Lexington Cemetery. Visitation from 2-5pm Sun at the funeral home. Memorial contributions to First United Methodist Church, 200 W. High St. Lexington, KY 40507.
