Obituary from the SPRINGFIELD REPUBLICAN [Springfield, Massachusetts], October 4, 1915:
"SOUTH HADLEY FALLS - Death of Mrs. James J. Crean.
Mrs. James J. Crean, 49, died at her home on Carew street at 8 last evening after a two-week's illness. She was born in Brooklyn N.Y., February 20, 1866, her maiden name being Mary Loretta Willmott, and she was a graduate of the St. Joseph academy, Flushing, L.I. Following her graduation she taught in New York schools until her marriage to Mr. Crean which took place at St. Anthony's church in Brooklyn in 1891. Mgr P. F. O'Hare being the officiating clergyman. Following her marriage Mr. and Mrs. Crean went to Chicopee and later for a time resided in Holyoke, moving to South Hadley Falls 12 years ago. She leaves behind her husband, five daughters, Mary V. Crean, Mrs. Conrad J. Hemond, Adele G., Ethel I. and Jeanie L., and one son Cornelius J. Crean. She also leaves two sisters Mrs. C. B. Young of Lynchburg VA, Mrs. Daniel McDonald of Brooklyn N.Y, and three brothers Thomas E., William and Alfred Willmott, all of Brooklyn. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning, with solemn requiem mass in St. Patrick's church, and the burial will be in Chicopee."
