William C. "Bill" Adams, 91, of Big Spring, died Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Scenic Mountain Medical Center.


Graveside service with Military Honors will be at 1:00 PM Friday, June 14, 2019 at Douglas Day Cemetery in Whitesburg, Kentucky.


Bill was born February 26, 1928 in Mayking, Kentucky to Armina Flenchum Adams and Charles Adams.


He had been a resident of Big Spring for over 50 years.


He served for 25 years in the United States Air Force. He served in Okinawa, Germany, Korea and France and retired from Webb Air Force Base in 1977 as a Master Sgt.


After his retirement, he worked at the V.A.M.C. for 10 years.


He also was a volunteer for the Big Spring Police Department for over 20 years.

February 25, 1928 ~ June 9, 2019 (age 91) William (Bill) Curtis Adams, son of Charlie and Armina Flinchum Adams was born in Letcher County February 25, 1928. He entered eternal life Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the Montain View Medical Center in Big Spring Texas being 91 years, 3 months, and 17 days of age at the time of his passing. Bill is survived by his wife of 67 years Jeanne Mabeix Adams of Big Spring Texas; 1 Brother: Paul Dean (Joyceleen) Adams of Mayking; 3 Sisters: Maxine Taylor of Minnesota; Margaret Adams of Mayking; Martha Caudill of Plainfield IL; along with many neices and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by 3 Brothers: Charles Adams, Benjamin Adams, and (infant) Edwin Lee Adams; 4 Sisters: Happy Nelle Lemaster, Alice Marie Burton, Geraldine Holbrook, (Infant) Letha Jane Adams. Bill was an Air Force Retiree having served more than 27 years on active duty. His career span saw him in Okinawa, Korea and other assignments in the south pacific; as well as the Euuropean Theatre in Germany and France where he met his wife Jeanne who survives him at their home in Big Spring Texas. Even though Bill spent most of his life away he always loved coming home to Kentucky. You are home now brother Rest In Peace.
