.Suggested edit: The marker indicates that he was in the 37th Regiment. That is not correct. He was in the 32nd Regiment of Georgia Infantry. The regiment was engaged heavily during the siege of Charleston in 1863, particularly in the defense of Battery Wagner. There the brigade was rushed to Morris Island and, at the end of the Union assault, surged over the southeast bastion killing or capturing any Yankees who still remained. Pleasant's regiment was also engaged in Flordia at the Battle of Olustee west of Jacksonville.
A record card on Fold3 indicates that the 32nd was previously the 57th Regiment. Pleasant was captured at Pocotaligo on 6 Dec 1864 and was sent to Ft. Delaware as a POW. This was prior to the capture of Savannah later in December. Pocotaligo was an important rail depot between Charleston and Savannah during the war and was the closet to Port Royal Island.

On Fold3 records indicate that he enlisted in Savannah. Records also indicate that he was detailed to row a boat between Battery Lawton and Ft. Jackson. This area was below Savannah. Battery Lawton was in the Savannah River on Barnwell Island. The Fort Jackson was an old fort dating to the War of 1812.
The 1907 census indicates that he was captured at Bee's Creek and John's Island. John's Island is just below Charleston next to James Island.
