Helen Margaret Bergstrom, age 83, Oronogo, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at her home.
Mrs. Bergstrom was born October 23, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Gustaf Gustafson and Helen Weske Gustafson and had lived in the Joplin area since 2001. A homemaker, she had lived all of her life in the Chicago, Illinois area and was a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star.
She married Walter C. Bergstrom Sr. on July 13, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois. He preceded her in death on October 17, 2006.
Survivors include her daughter, Wendy Richardson and husband, Jim, Oronogo; one son, Walter Bergstrom, Jr. and wife, Debbie, Illinois; grandsons, Jayme Richardson, Oklahoma, James Richardson and wife, Carla Anne, Jacksonville, North Carolina, Walter Bergstrom III, Indiana, Michael Bergstrom, Illinois; granddaughters, Jill Dreyer and husband, Burt, Oronogo, Brittney Bergstrom, Illinois, Josie Richardson, Oronogo; and eight great grandchildren.
Helen has been taken for cremation. Interment will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
