Tecumseh resident William "Bill" Blain, 59, passed away Friday, June 15, in Oklahoma City.

He was born Sept. 23, 1947, to O.R. and Thelma J. (Turner) Blain in Maud.

He was raised in Harjo, Okla., on Blain's Corner. He also lived in Tecumseh and Del City before moving back to Tecumseh in 1974.

He attended Harjo Schools from first to 12th grade. He was the captain of his high school basketball team.

He was a jet engine production controller at Tinker Air Force Base, retiring in 1985.

He enjoyed fishing, drag and sprint racing, and going to the lake. His children and grandchildren were the focal point of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include son, Chris Blain of Midwest City; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and James Dutton of Tecumseh; five brothers, Raymond Blain of Shawnee, Kenneth Blain of Konawa, Robert Blain of Bakersfield, Calif., Don Blain of Midwest City, Merle Blain of Maypearl, Texas; three sisters, Marie Lott of Bakersfield, Calif., Melba Marsh of Tecumseh, Margaret Outlaw of Tecumseh; four grandchildren, Amanda Rhodes of Tecumseh, Lauren Williams and her husband, Andrew of Earlsboro, Josh Dutton of Bethel, and Megan Dutton of Bethel; one great-grandchild, Austin Williams of Earlsboro.

Service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Sparks, New Beginnings Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Cummings Cemetery.
