Amelia Bailey
Amelia Bailey, a Southwest Portland resident, died Monday in her home from emphysema. She was 77. A funeral for Mrs. Bailey will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Riverview Abbey Chapel.
Born in Portland on Sept. 2, 1915, Mrs. Bailey owned Mil's Fabrics in Hillsdale for seven years. Mrs. Bailey worked as an executive secretary at Montgomery Ward, Lewis and Clark College, and Portland Community College. She retired from PCC in 1976.
She graduated from Washington High School and Portland Business College. She was married to Robert F. Bailey on March 2, 1934 in Stevenson [sic], Wash. She was the daughter of Miles and Bessie Stanich.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Joanne Brumley of Charbonneau and Kathy Weeks of Portland; son, Robert of Portland; brothers, George Simon and John Stanich, both of Portland; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents Miles and Bessie Stanich and brother Dushan Stanich.
The family requests remembrances be contributions to the Oregon Lung Association.
