Longtime Shawnee resident Betty Jo Jordan, 78, departed this life Thursday, June 14, in Meeker.
She was born July 31, 1928, in Cisco, Texas, to Roy and Ollie Mae (Spoon) Hall.
On Dec. 24, 1946, she married Walter W. Jordan.
Betty worked as a teacher's aide at Grove School in Shawnee for many years and was a member of the Hill Top Baptist Church and Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, two brothers, and two sisters.
Survivors include one son, Danny Jordan of Meeker; one sister, Margie Cahill of Arkansas; three grandchildren, Tracy and husband, Travis, Loveland of Shawnee, Brian and wife, Samantha, Neal of El Reno and Scott Burks of Shawnee; six great-grandchildren, Kody, Kory, Kayci Loveland of Shawnee, Ashley Neal of Shawnee, Jessie and Dusti Neal of El Reno; other relatives and many friends.
Viewing will be 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Chandler and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Meeker.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Tecumseh Cemetery with the Rev. Gene McNutt officiating.
