Manci Néni, as she was known in the family, was born in Hungary, May 25, 1907. She came to this country after World War II with her husband and son, both named John, her daughter, Margaret (Maggie), and her mother. They lived immediately across the street from the old Pittsburgh, PA railroad yards/steel mills. Her husband worked for the railroads until he retired. He died in the 1960s. For many years, Margaret worked in a drugstore in Pittsburgh's Squirrel Hill neighborhood.
In her later years, she lived in Springfield, Missouri, Oregon, Reno, Nevada, and Ardmore, Oklahoma, always with or near family. She moved to Ardmore in the late 1980s and lived there with her sister and her sister's family until she died suddenly on October 8, 1995.
