age 77 of Malvern
went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family following an extended illness. He was born on May 10, 1931, to the late Jacob Benjamin and Ruth (Thompson) Shattuck in Belle Valley, Ohio, and graduated from Belle Valley High School, in 1949.

After an honorable discharge during the Korean Conflict, he then attended Tri-State College of Engineering in Indiana, as well as Kent State University, Akron University and Connecticut University. He retired from Timken Company as a quality control engineer after 23 years of service. He also owned several pizza shops in Northeast, Ohio. Following retirement, Jim and his wife, Luella, drove for Fed-Ex throughout the U.S. and Canada. Jim had a pilot's license and loved to fly planes swim and proudly held a black belt in karate. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jack Shattuck, and an aunt, Hazel Ratliff.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Luella Shattuck; four sons, Mike, Jeff, Scott, and David Shattuck, of Malvern, OH; two daughters, Susan (Mark) Simmons of Massillon, OH, Laurie (Bruce) Wilson of Malvern, OH; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Byron (Arlene) Lowther of Massillon; sister-in-law, Janice Nichols and Tim, of Canton, and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to Luella Shattuck: P.O. Box 123, Malvern, Ohio 44644. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel with Chaplain Paul Rudy officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Calling hours will be on Monday evening from 5-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
