  Harold Pettit Beckstrand, 81, passed away April 28, 1995 at home.
  Born February 27, 1914 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Alma N. and Kathleen Pettit Beckstrand. Married Dorothy Peterson, August 15, 1935 in Manti; marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He graduated from Granite High School and attended one post year at East High School. He was a manager of a Safeway store for years, and later an electrical maintenance specialist for Smith's Food King stores until he retired.
  Harold loved to go fishing at Flaming Gorge and Strawberry Reservoir. His boat was his pride and joy and he was happiest when his children or grandchildren were fishing with him. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
  He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his daughter, Peggy J. (Tom) Monical; his sons, Richard N. (Carol) and Gary A. (Teresa), all of Salt Lake City; ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Faye Higginson and Dorothy (Charles L.) Soelberg. Preceded in death by daughter, Ann Rochelle, and sister, Erma Fahrni.
  Services will be Tuesday, May 2, 1995 at 12 noon, at the Mountain View Third Ward Chapel, 1889 South 1700 East. Friends may call Monday, 7-8 p.m., at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and Tuesday one hour prior to services at the ward chapel. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
