She graduated from Rice University in 1954 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Living in Houston she worked at First United Methodist Church as a secretary and met her husband. In 1972 the family moved to Cuero which she called home for 41 years. During those years she was active member at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lindenau. She worked as a bookkeeper for Weber Insurance Agency and later Weber Motor Company. Upon retirement she continued to enjoy sewing, knitting, crocheting, and reading. In July 2013, after a short illness in Cuero, she became a resident of Lake Forest Village Denton. She always spoke of how welcomed she felt by other residents and how the Lake Forest staff always took great care of her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Adolph Stolleis; brothers, Rogers and Morton Dearing; and sister, Lorraine.
