HJALMAR ANDERSON

Gustaf Hjalmar Anderson was born in Sweden on May 1, 1892 He came to the Alta community in 1911. He was united in marriage to Anna Justina Larson on December 22 1915. To this union three sons were born: Herbert, Raymond and Glen. Hjalmar and Anna farmed in the Alta community until retirement and have resided in Alta since 1948.

He was preceded in death by his wife Anna in October 1973, his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Surviving are three sons and their wives: Herbert and Dorothy, Raymond and Ariene of Alta and Glen and Carma of Boone; eight grandchildren: Richard Anderson and wife Merlea of Ames, Robert attending the University of Connecticut, Barbara Gould and husband Randy of Des Moines, Judy Engtert and husband Richard of Everly, Peggy of Spirit Lake and Kathy of Alta, Steve of Ames and Tom attending Iowa State University also two great grandchildren: Tamara Anderson and Kristie Engtert.

He is survived by one sister Garda 'Yarda' and many other relatives in Sweden.
