Neva M Akers, 79, of Independence, KS passed away Tuesday June 4,2019 at Montgomery Place in Independence, KS.
A celebration of life service will be Friday June 7, 2019 at 10:00am at Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, KS. Visitation will be Thursday June 6, 2019 with the family receiving friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, KS. Burial will be in the Neodesha Cemetery.
Neva M (Sloniker) Akers was born September 13, 1939 in Reamsville, KS. the daughter of Lloyd and Mary Jenetta (Bryant) Sloniker, Neva attended school in Neodesha, KS. and graduated from Neodesha High School in 1957. Neva was united in marriage to Cecil Ross in Kansas, City. MO. And Cecil preceded her in death
Neva lived in Neodesha 21years before moving to Ohio for 18 years and move back to Independence, KS where she has lived for40 years. Neva Loved to play Bingo, loved to go walking and work on word puzzles, and loved to go camping with her sister Betty and family, Neva just loved to be outdoors. Neva enjoyed watching the squirrels play outside her window and loved to spend time with her loving family and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Neva is survived by 1 daughter Rhonda Perry of Coffeyville, KS. 3 step daughters Ruby Glasgow, Lorene Landis and Elizabeth Lewis Bryant 3 Step sons Larry Glasgow, Pat Glasgow and Jerry Glasgow and one sister Betty Srader of Independence, KS. and 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Neva is preceded in death by husband Cecil Ross and parents Lloyd and Mary and Sister Wilma Hopkins and brother Bill Sloniker.
Memorials can be left in Neva’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or The Shriners Hospital and can be left with Loran Fawcett Chapel
