POQUOSON - Emily June Smith Lacks, 91, a native & lifelong resident of Poquoson, passed away at home on Sunday, February 15, 2015. She was a graduate of Duke University with a B. S. Degree in Nursing, and retired as a nurse from Halifax Community Hospital, Halifax County, VA.
June was preceded in death by her husband, Flournoy Gatewood Lacks; son, Michael F. Lacks; and sister, Audrey Topping. She is survived by three sons, Mark Lacks & wife Julie, Larry Lacks, and Wallie Lacks & wife Janet; grandchildren, Meriah, Amanda, Wallie Jr., Misty, Christy, Ali, and Jessica; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Feb. 19, 6-7:00 PM, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson. A graveside service will be held Friday, 1:00 PM, at Smith Memorial Cemetery, Brickhouse Road, Poquoson, by Rev. Milford C. Rollins.
