Buried here per American Foreign Service Report of the Death of an American Citizen dated 15 Jun 1959. Local law stated that remains "may not be disinterred for seven years."

Samuel married Marie Louise Golden in about 1905. They had three children: James Golden Garrett; Eugene Samuel Garrett; and John "Jack" Warden Garrett. Eugene Samuel died as a toddler when he fell from a sixth floor apartment.
