Willie "Oletha" Goolsby, age 93, of Houston, Texas passed away on Tuesday June 4, 2019. She was born October 25, 1925 to the late Ola & Thomas Patty.
She survived her husband Noah Goolsby after his passing on Memorial Day 2018. She was raised in Galena, Kansas. She later moved to Joplin, Missouri where she attended High School and graduated in 1943.
Sis. Oletha met Noah at a Church camp meeting in Galena, Kansas in 1948. They married May 16, 1949 and they spent part of their honeymoon in Shepherdsville, Kentucky in 1949 at a Camp meeting. They settled in Houston, Texas and raised a beautiful family. They attended Houston Gospel Assembly church for almost 70 years. She loved attending the ladies prayer meeting group and joyfully sent cards and flowers to encourage people as well as her family. She was an avid worker in the church. Her favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalms. She loved the Lord and was his faithful servant.
Oletha's memory will be cherished by her loving family: sons David & Nora Goolsby, John & Sandy Goolsby, Noah & Debbie Goolsby, Samuel & Dini Goolsby; daughter, Martha Standley and husband Jerry Moran; sister, Mary Neil; sisters-in-law, Minnie Vaughn, Ruth King; brother-in-law, James Goolsby; twenty-one grandchildren, numerous great-great grandchildren and numerous Nieces and nephews as well as friends in the family of God. We will miss her, but will never forget the beautiful memories.
