Ernest "Ben" Darrow, son of Adam B. and Anna Ellen Triplett Darrow, was born February 28, 1916, near Decaturville, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, March 28, 2007, in Christian Health Care South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-one years, and one month.

On April 6, 1938, he was united in marriage to Wilda Rogers, and to this union two daughters and one son were born. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a great-granddaughter, Tina Michelle Webster.

Ben is survived by his loving wife of sixty-nine years, Wilda, of the home; a son, Russell Darrow, and his wife, Ledia, of Lebanon, Missouri; two daughters,Ernestine "Tina" McCrae, of Decaturville, Missouri, and Judith Kelley, and her husband, Don, of Price, Utah; eleven grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Pearl DeBerry, and her husband, Louie, of Ozark, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

He was raised in the Stoutland and Sleeper, Missouri areas and graduated from Stoutland High School in the Class of 1935. After he and Wilda were married, they made their home in the Stoutland community for several years before moving to Whittier, California in 1952. There Ben worked for the Stoody Corporation for a number of years before retiring and also served as a minister. In 1978, he and Wilda returned to Lebanon and made their home.

Ben made his profession of belief in Christ early in his life and his faith was extremely important to him. He served as a full gospel minister for forty years both here and in California, and had pastored the Trinity Full Gospel Church at one time.

In his spare time he enjoyed fishing. He was a quiet man with a mild manner, but possessed a delightful sense of humor. He loved his family dearly and especially enjoyed being a grandfather.

Ben was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and brother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered as a loving family man, a devoted pastor, and as a compassionate friend to many.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery.
