William “Billy” Elbert Ray, 77, of Resaca died Saturday, June 1, 2019.
He was born in Marietta, GA on October 19, 1941, son of the late William Albert Ray and Lucy Coggins Ray. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Ray and his sisters, Barbara Anderson, Carol Cartwright, and Linda Rutledge.
Billy attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son, Stephen Ray; his daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Eric Nesbit; grandchildren, Matthew and Sadie Ray, Tiffany and Scott Wilson, Cora Nesbit, and Katie Elizabeth and Ricky Sean; great grandchildren, Trenton Luffman and Jeremiah Sean; brothers and sisters-in-law, E.L. and Ann Ray and James and Martha Ray; sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Holden, Cindy Marie Taylor, and Jannette and Kenneth Faulkner; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, June 4th at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral. Rev. Ronnie Wells will officiate and eulogy by Kacey Daniels. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery.
