When he was 14-year-old, his family emigrated to North America. He studied singing in Boston, however, came back during the First World War to Italy and made his debut in 1918 in Savona in ‘’Lucia di Lammermoor’’. At the famous Italian opera stages his repertore included the Duke in G. Verdi’s ‘’Rigoletto’’’, Edgardo in G. Donizetti’s ‘’Lucia di Lammermoor’’, Elvino in V. Bellini’s ‘’La Sonnambula’’ and Almaviva in G. Rossini’s ‘’Il Barbiere di Siviglia’’. In 1927 he married the famous prima donna Lina Pagliughi (1907-80) and now sang often together, among other things in the 1929-1930 season at the Italian Opera in Holland. After his retirement, which was happened probably in 1941, he taught together with his wife at a singing school at Milan.
