William James David Jowers was born in Old Store(Chesterfield) Chesterfield County South Carolina to George and Rebecca Leigh Jowers. He was married four times. 1st to Ellen Jane Sowell on Jan. 16 1873. She died 1888 in Louisiana. William & Jane moved to Minden, Louisiana from Chesterfield County, South Carolina in December 1887. Three weeks after arriving in Louisiana EllenJane died & was buried at the Evergreen Cemetery in Minden( memorial #117140563 ) William then married his 2nd wife Sallie Elizabeth Kirkley(died 1901) 3rd wife was Louisa Thomas Kirkley(died 1934) 4th wife was Martha Jane Hollingsworth(died 1926) W.J. D. Jowers lived the last nine years of his life with his daughter Beulah in Raywood, Liberty Texas. He died on Valentine's Day 1941.
