Olive D. Armstrong, 98, a resident of Community Care Center West, Portland, died late Thursday at Jay County Hospital following an extended illness. She was a member of the Portland First Baptist Church.
She was born November 17, 1888, in Ridgeville, the daughter of John and Florence (Kunce) Armstrong. She married June 22, 1936, to Ray Long who died in 1939.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Ruth) Rupe and Mrs. Genevieve Martyne, two sons, Walter F. Hastings and Jack W. Hastings, 17 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 2 p.m. Sunday and prior to services Monday.
