Charley A. L. Sparks, 92, of Cassville, died at 7:51 p.m. December 22 at the Barry County Care Center in Cassville following a long illness.

Mr. Sparks was born July 7, 1907, in Thomasville, the son of Fate and Angline Mobley Sparks. He was a lifelong area resident, a farmer, a sawmill worker, and a custom baler. He was a Baptist.

He married Bernice Dovie Hilburn on June 16, 1934, in Cassville, and she preceded him in death October 28, 1995.

Survivors include two sons, James Sparks and Allen Sparks, both of Cassville; five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, four sisters, and a great grandchild.

Graveside services were 2 p.m. December 24 at Russell Cemetery with Ralph Hilburn officiating under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home of Cassville.
