Leola Mott Nichols, 88, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Oct. 20, 1994. Sevices will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with Chester O'Brien officiating. Private burial will follow. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Nichols was born in Indian Territory at Davidson. She graduated from high school in Springer, N.M. She had lived in Amarillo and been a member of First Baptist Church since 1925. At the church, she was a member of the Adult 9 - Mrs. Crabtree Class. She also was active in the Mary Love Women's Missionary Union and the Virginia Highsill WMU. She had worked as a secretary for Clowe and Cowen for 22 years. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Willie and Dorothy Northern, both of Amarillo; a sister, Una Hines of Denver; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. The family requests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice
