Services for Lawrence E. Berndt, 81, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brookside Apartments with the Rev. Peter Dahlberg presiding.
Burial will be in Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
Berndt died Saturday at Hot Springs Veterans Administration Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 12, 1903, at Avon to Ephraim and Sophia Berndt. He served in the military in World War II. He married Gertrude "Trudy" Koch Aug. 1, 1945, in Rapid City.
Among the survivors are his wife and a sister, Elsie Webster of Spokane, Wash.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and eight brothers.
McColley's Chapel of the Hills is in charge of arrangements.
