VICKNAIR, EMMA RETZ A resident of Maurepas, she died at her home on Saturday, March 31, 2007. She was 77 and a native of Riverside, Mich. Visitation at Welsh Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, on Monday, April 2, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until religious service in the chapel at 1 p.m., conducted by Deacon Jimmy Little. Burial in Head of Island Catholic Church Cemetery, Head of Island. She is survived by five daughters and three sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Gary Murphy of French Settlement, Delores Aucoin of Gonzales, Dianne Vicknair of Coloma, Mich., Sandra and Selby Rogers of St. Amant, and Carla and David Lowe of Head of Island; son, Sherman Vicknair of Head of Island; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; special caregiver, Crystal McClendon; two sisters, Hazel Stokes and Lucille Weber, both of Michigan; brother, Paul E. Retz of Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Herman "Manjo" Vicknair; parents, Nicholas and Emma Retz; sister, Dorothy Rizzo; and brothers, Nicholas Retz Jr. and Robert Retz. Pallbearers will be Kerry and Jody Vicknair, Gary Murphy, Michael Boudreau, Selby Rogers and David DeArmond.
