SOUTHBURY, Conn., Sept. 5—
Walter Ralph Aston, a former official of the Nichols Copper Company, at their refinery in Laurel Hill, Queens, N.Y., died today at his home here. His age was 61. (sic, age 71)
Born in Brooklyn, he was a son of the late Rear Admiral Ralph Aston, American naval officer, who was aboard the steamboat Cayuga when she became the first ship to pass the lower forts at the capture of New Orleans by Admiral Farragut in 1862. His mother was the late Mrs. Jennie Preswich Aston.
Mr. Aston retired from business in 1925. He leaves a widow, Mrs. Deborah Hallock Aston; a brother, Albert, and a sister, Mrs. Eugene Bennett of Mountain Lakes, New Jersey.
