Gorman L. "Gordie" Howard, age 79 of Hamilton passed away at Glen Meadows of Fairfield on Tuesday, April 1, 2008. He was born in Middletown on April 23, 1928 the son of Huram and Dona (Minnix) Howard. Gordie was a valued employee of Fisher Body in Hamilton and Kalamazoo, Michigan for 42 years, retiring in 1992. In 1963 in Hamilton he married Antoinette "Toni" Cecere. He is survived by his beloved wife, Toni Howard of Hamilton; sons Michael (Lynn) Howard of Hamilton, Anthony Howard of Galveston, Texas, Bob (Nancy) Jackson of Hamilton, and Walter (Carol) Jackson of Highwood, Illinois; a daughter, Reggie (Don) Reece of Oxford; a brother, John (June) Howard of Amelia, Ohio; a sister, Henrietta Back of Gadsden, Alabama; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Toni Kendal; a grandson, Benjamin Reece; and a brother, Henderson "Junior" Howard. A memorial service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 2:00 PM with Pastor James Cecere II of First Millville Baptist Church officiating. Cremation was held. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St Peter In Chains Church, 382 Liberty Ave. Gordie's family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Glen Meadows, especially the Alzheimer's unit for their care and concern. www.browndawson.com
