Sue Cato Gennings, 84, passed peacefully May 21, 2019 in Blytheville, Arkansas. She was born to the late George Michael and Ophelia Jayne Light Wadley in Paragould, Arkansas on June 24, 1934 and graduated from Greene County Tech High School.

She had a forty plus year career in real estate. She established, owned, and served as principal broker for her real estate company in Little Rock, Arkansas, Sue Cato Real Estate. She was well known worldwide among motel/hotel owners and brokers in the hospitality industry.

She was also well known for her support and service to her church, Pulaski Heights Baptist Church.
Sue recently authored the novel Living in Harmony: A Legacy of Love. She served as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 2000.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Marlin R. Gennings and son, Barry Cato.

She is survived by son Dr. Bill R. (Rock) (Liz) Cato of Blytheville, Arkansas, son Byron (Carol) Cato of Fayetteville, Georgia, daughter Dr. Elizabeth Cato of Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Amy (Chad) Marten, Cynthia Cato, Lara Flowers, Brooks (Becca) Cato, Belle Cato, William Cato, Byron (Lindsey) Cato, Barrett Cato, Jonathan (Lauren) Sewell, Jacob Sewell, Dr. Braden (Brittney) Cato, Bonnie Smith, Rebecca Hanssen, Bailey Harris, and Benjamin Cato; sixteen great grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother Dr. George Robert Wadley and sisters Pat Thomas, Anita (Harry) Evans, Kay Martinez, Angela (Hugh) Hyde, and Marilyn Misenhimer.

A Life Celebration Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Emerson Memorial
Chapel.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the service.
