Funeral services for Betty Jo Degge were held Wednesday, June 20, at 2 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Okemah. Interment followed at the Highland Cemetery in Okemah.
Betty Jo Degge was born November 5, 1938 in Wetumka to Sterling J. and Mary Edna (Burkes) Brandt. She passed away, Saturday, June 6, at her home in Okemah at the age of 68.
Betty had been a resident of the Okemah most all of her life. She and Billy Joe Degge were married in Henryetta in 1957; he preceded her in death August 25, 1999. Betty was the owner of Degge Oilfield Service. She loved basketball, her grandchildren, and the Okemah Lake.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bill; her parents, Sterling and Mary Edna; one daughter, Rhonda; two sisters, and one grandson.
She is survived by her son, Timmy Degge and wife Ruth of Okemah; three brothers, Dale Brandt and wife Darlene of Okemah, Donald Brandt and wife Kay of Okemah, and David Brandt and wife Judy of Glenpool; one sister, Shirley Wilson and husband Lyndol of Okemah; 4 grandchildren, Joseph, Josh, Amanda, and Jennifer Degge, and one great-grandson, Conner Jo Stacy. Serving as pallbearer will be Randy and Danny Rutland, Daren Wilson, Tommy Brandt, Joseph Degge, Josh Degge. Honorary bearers included David Lucas, Max Henry, Fred Amos, Ryan Smart; Johnny Lesley, Lynn Thompson, Lyndol Wilson.
Services were under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home and officiated by Dr. Roger Thompson.
