Roger Mills, age 76, our dear husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on Friday, June 8, 2007 at his home after a courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Roger was born May 25, 1931 to Karl Maeser and Lucile Carpenter Mills. He graduated from West High and attended the U of U until he was drafted into the Army during the Korean War. After serving 30 months in Japan, he returned home and accepted a call to serve an LDS Mission in the Western States Mission.

Roger met his sweetheart, Anita, just before leaving for Japan in 1951. They courted mostly through letters for five long years. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 11, 1956 when Roger returned from his mission. They enjoyed fifty-one exceptionally happy years together and were blessed with three wonderful children who have blessed their lives in many ways.

Roger was in the Office Supply Business for many years and thoroughly enjoyed the many wonderful people he was able to work with. One of the hardest things about his sickness was when he had to retire from Central Office Suppliers.

He was a very active member of the L.D.S. Church and held many responsible positions. He served on two stake high councils, and a counselor in two bishoprics. He also served as a bishop for six years, a position he loved very much.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday, June 16, 2007, at 12:00 Noon at the Ensign Stake Center, ‘A' Street and 3rd Avenue in Salt Lake City. There was a ‘Visitation" on Friday, June 15, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South in Salt Lake City and Saturday at the Church 10:30-11:45 A.M.
Graveside Services followed at the Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery where he was buried.
