Frances Russell French passed away on October 9, 2012 in Granby. She was born in Hartford on September 27, 1918 and was the only child of Charles S. and Ethel Marsh Russell. She lived in West Hartford and graduated from William Hall High School in 1936. In 1938 she graduated from Colby Junior College in New London, NH. In 1942, she married the late Lloyd Jefferson French, they were married for 60 years. After the war they lived in West Hartford then moved to Bloomfield in 1955. She worked for Aetna Insurance Company for 25 years before retiring. After retirement, Fran and "Jeff" enjoyed many trips across the United States camping in many of the National Parks. They lived for many years in Leesburg, FL. She is survived by her sons, Russell K. French and his wife Lee of Granby and Phillip B. French and his wife Becky of Richmond, KY; Fran also leaves four granddaughters, Laura and her husband Dean Jumes, Kimberly French, Elizabeth and her husband Shawn Fluckiger, and Bonnie and her husband Erik Keller; she was proud of her four great-grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Jumes and Mary and Megan Fluckiger. The family would like to thank the staff at MeadowBrook of Granby for the loving care they gave Fran during the last four years of her life.
