Funeral services for James B.Haralson, 65, were held Monday at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church with former Spur pastor, Rev. Norris Taylor Stinnett, officiating.
Haralson died May 5 in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Big Spring following a lengthy illness. Born October 2, 1918 in Ft. Sumner, NM, Haralson married the former Loraine Bond in Spur on December 24, 1943, she died on January 5, 1969.

He was an accountant and a member of the Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II. He moved to Abilene from Spur in 1969. He was in the bookkeeping department of Hendrix Hospital for a number of years and was honored by being named the Outstanding Employee.

Survivors include one son, Neal Haralson, Lubbock; a daughter, Janna Johnston, Abilene; a brother, W.H. (Bill) Haralson, Lindale; one sister, Odessa Coaton, Abilene and three grandchildren. Two brothers preceded him in death.

Pallbearers included Travis Hoover, Bunk Garner, Rip Garner, Lester Ball, Freeman Clifton and Robert Williams.

Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
