MADRAS, Ore. — Mae Weaver, 100, of Madras, and formerly of Homedale, died Tuesday, May 17, 1988, in Madras of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Homedale. Burial will follow in the Wilder Cemetery.
Mrs. Weaver, a homemaker, was born May 8, 1888, near Orchard, Neb., the eleventh of 12 children of Henry and Fanny Wagner Knapp. She was reared an educated in Orchard, and later attended teachers college at Macon, Ill. She returned to Nebraska and began a teaching career at the age of 17. She married George Weaver on June 7, 1911, in Nebraska. To this union two children were born, Ord and Hazel. The family moved to Caldwell in 1935, and to Homedale in 1936 where Mr. Weaver worked as a blacksmith.
She was a life member of the Baptist Church. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge for 80 years, and had served as the first noble grand of Empress Rebekah Lodge, Homedale, at its institution.
Survivors include a daughter, Hazel Meurett of Madras; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends. Her husband, a son and a granddaughter died earlier.
Memorials may be made to Empress Rebekah Lodge for educational funds, c/o Juanita Bennett, Route 2, Box , Madras, Ore. 97901; or garden flowers may be brought to the services.
