Funeral services for John Conrad "Jack" Ackerman of Halletsville were to be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Taylor Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Bay City, with the Rev. Corkey Wells officiating.

Interment will be in Hawley Cemetery in Blessing.

Mr. Ackerman, 48, a former resident of El Maton, was born Nov. 22, 1937, in Bay City to John C. Ackerman and Helen Bea Prihoda. He died July 11, 1986, at Southmore Humanna Hospital in Pasadena, Texas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Shiner.

Ackerman's survivors include his wife, Millie Ackerman of Halletsville; mother, Helen Prihoda of Pasadena; sons, Jason Wyatt Ackerman and John Wyatt Ackerman, both of Halletsville; stepsons, Kenneth W. Ballinger and Clinton W. Ballinger, both of Bay City; and a sister, Virginia Arnold of Longmont, Colo.

Pallbearers will be Phil Suaez, Billy Jalufka, Bill Brown, Tommy Williams, John Sliva and Harry Beard.

Funeral directions are under the direction of Taylor Brothers Funeral Home in Bay City.
