Delmas Lacy, 57, 1413 S. Brotherton St., died unexpectedly Friday in Ball Hospital, apparently as the result of a heart attack.
He was born in Fentress County, Tenn., attended Jamestown schools and York High School, and moved to Muncie as a young man.
He served in the Navy during World War II. He was employed in Johnson Complex at Ball State University and earlier was employed at Dayton Steel Co. and at Durham Manufacturing.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Howell Lacy; three daughters, Mary Petro, Bonnie Farmer and Molly Sells, all of Muncie; four sons, James Lacy, Rex Lacy and Thomas Lacy, all of Muncie, and Mark Lacy, in the Army at Fort Knox, Ky.; two sisters, Ina Whited, Muncie, and Edith Linder, Jamestown; two brothers, Dallas Lacy, Manchester, Tenn., and Herbert Lacy, Jamestown; his stepmother, Letia Lacy, Jamestown; his half-sister, Joann Stewart, Jamestown, and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Meeks Mortuary with Robert Adamson officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Redkey. Friends may call at the mortuary form 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today and prior to services Sunday.
