RETIRED REDKEY MERCHANT DIES

W.S. Garrett Is Found Dead on Farm.

Redkey, Ind., April 15.--William S. Garrett, 68, who had resided in Redkey for more than forty-eight years, was found dead in a woods on the old Keesaer homestead, one mile north and one-half mile west of Redkey, about 4 o'clock this afternoon by his brother-in-law, George Keesaer. Mr. Garrett ate his breakfast early this morning here at his home on West Main street and left for the farm, expecting to do some work there. Mr. Kaeesaer said Mr. Garrett started to the woods to get a pole, and when he did not return as soon as expected, Mr. Keesaer went to the woods and found Mr. Garrett lying on his side, dead. The body was broght here in the Jones ambulance and taken to the Jones mortuary.
Mr. Garrett is survived by the widow; one daughter, Mrs. Edna Throan, and one grandson, Cassius Blakely, both of Dayton, O.; and one half-brother, Harry Thomas, a member of the Muncie fire department. Mr. Garrett formerly was engaged in business here, and at one time served on the local police force. No funeral arrangements have yet been made.
