Carl R. Stoelting, 83, formerly of 13127 Lax Chapel Road, Kiel, did Saturday morning, Jan. 2, 1993 at Calumet Homestead, New Holstein, where he resided for the past three years.
He was born July 9, 1909 in Kiel, Wis., son the late Adolph and Hertha Krieger Stoelting. He received his B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from U.W. Madison in 1932. He played flute for four years, in the U.W. Concert band, Waukesha Symphony and Kiel Municipal Band.
On July 1, 1933, he married Maxine Salisbury in Seattle Wash. The couple celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1983. He served as chief engineer for Stoelting Inc., in Kiel from 1958 until his retirement in 1976. His wife Maxine preceded him in death on April 17, 1989.
Carl and his wife, Maxine, founded Pathway of Light Center in rural Kiel in 1968, formerly called Munedowk Foundation, it was established as a non-profit organization for spiritual and educational growth. He served as its president for many years.
Survivors include one son, Robert (Mary) Stoelting, of rural Kiel, two daughters, Mrs. Alma (David) Brethauer, of Downington, PA; Mrs. Carol (Lawrence) Welsh of Flagler Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren, Peter and Jim Brethauer and Ralph Welsh; one great granddaughter, Natalie Brethauer, three step great grandchildren; one brother, Frederick Stoelting of Kiel, and one sister, Marie Lee of Kiel. He was preceded in death by one sister, Elfriede (Milton) Kuether.
A memorial services will be held at Pathways of Light Center. Friends may call at the center at the time of service.
