Wickman, Mrs. Clarence (Myrtle)

Mrs. Clarence (Myrtle) Wickman, 86, Green Bay, died peacefully, Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001 at a local nursing home. Born in Ephraim, Aug. 17, 1915 to the late Frank and Elsie (Ohman) Root. She married Clarence Wickman Aug. 9, 1934 in Green Bay and he preceded her in death Aug. 14, 1979. Myrtle worked for 25 years as a baker at Preble High School in Green Bay School Food Service. The whole time myrtle worked at the school she made all of the breads, buns, and desserts. She was a long-time member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church.

She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Darvin and Marilyn Wickman, Ray Wickman, Roy and Marianne Wickman, Lyle and Ginny Wickman, all of Green Bay; two daughters and one son-in-law, Luella Manteufel, Allouez; Janis and Lee Dechamps, New Franken; 16 grandchildren, David and Cindy Wickman, Wendy and Bill Jolly, Lynne Manteufel, Michael and Sue Manteufel, Kevin and Sue Wickman, Michael and Lori Wickman, Brian and Kim Wickman, Connie and Dennis Peters, Marcia and Steve Parks, Anne Wickman, Paula and Doug Seifert, Darren Wickman, Mark Dechamps, Leann and John Majeski, Jeffrey Wickman, and Bradley Wickman; 26 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Clare Root, Green Bay; nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; one granddaughter, Michelle Dechamps; two sisters, Elvida (Elmer) Hurley and Arlene (Albert) Van Beek; one brother, Ellsworth Root; one son-in-law, Elery Manteufel.

Visitation at MALCORE Funeral Home, University Ave. at Baird Street, Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday’s visitation will continue at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 120 S. Henry St., from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Funeral service 11 a.m. Monday at Our Saviour Lutheran church with Pastor David Hatch and Pastor Arthur Callesan officiating. Burial at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Bornemanns Nursing Home for all of the care given to Myrtle.
