Marlin Junior Baker, 79, of Adamsville died Monday, Sept. 10, at Magnolia Regional Hospital in Corinth, Miss. Mr. Baker was born in Akron, Ohio, son of the late Edward Marlin Baker Sr. and Myrtle Weatherford. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a retired maintenance supervisor for Paccadilly Cafeteria. Services were held Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Shackelford Chapel in Acton with Roy Bennett and William Axley officiating. Cremation followed, the service. He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Jean Brown of Adamsville and Anita Sue Farris of Memphis; two sons, James Edward and Andrew Ray Baker, both of Ft. Worth, Texas; seven sisters, Vergie Harville, Earline Foster and Chole Rose, of Michie, Jessie Neill and Jane Austin, of Savannah, Ann Johnson of Iuka, Miss. and Fran Nelms of Naples, Fla.; three brothers, Joe Baker of Thomson, Ga., Paul Baker of Jacksonville, Fla. and David Baker of Michie; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
