Services for W.D. Blair, 82, were held at 2:00 p.m. November 13, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Burton officiating. Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.
He died Tuesday in Crosbyton.

Mr. Blair was born May 4, 1921 to William David and Alice Cozby Blair in Spur. He graduated from Spur High School in 1938. After attending Texas Tech University for 2 years, he enlisted in the Air Force where he served as an armorer, loading bombs in plaines in England during WWII. After his discharge from the Air Force in 1945 he worked at the Spur Post Office and later became the postmaster of Spur from 1969 until his retirement in 1980.

He married Florene Noack on June 5, 1949 in Spur. Mr. Blair was a lifelong Methodist as well as a lifelong member of the Masonic Lodge and VFW.

He was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Renise (Rebbie) and husband Randy Morgan of Dimmitt; one son, Kerry and wife Belinda of Kurtistown, Hawaii; one brother, Marvin of Stockton, CA; one sister, Winnie Gay of Dallas; 2 grandchildren, Jacob and Julie Blair of Kurtistown, Hawaii.
