Erna L. Hoeffner, age 95, of 1210 Nagle Ave., Manitowoc, died Saturday evening, January 6, 2001, at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 11, 2001, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Richard C. Miller will officiate, with burial to follow at Knollwood Memorial Gardens.

She was born November 9, 1905, in the township of Two Rivers, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late John and Anna Oestreich Holtz. Erna grew up in the township of Two Rivers attending rural Two Rivers schools. She moved to Manitowoc in 1919. She was married to Walter F. Hoeffner July 20, 1927, at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Walter preceded her in death August 16, 1975. Erna worked with her husband at the Walter F. Hoeffner Printing Service until her retirement in 1967. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and many craft projects. She also enjoyed playing cards in several card clubs for many years. She is a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Lester and Darlene Hoeffner, Apache Junction, Ariz.; one daughter and son-in-law, Eunice and Joseph Hrudka, Manitowoc; seven grandchildren, Neil and Mary Hoeffner, Manitowoc, Lee and Cindy Hoeffner, Cato, Bill and Audrey Salkowski, Manitowoc, Todd Hoeffner, Manitowoc, Jodene and Michael Wartman, Prior Lake, Minn., Daniel and Diane Hurdka, Manitowoc, Michael and Heidi Hrudka, Blaine, Minn.; 19 great grandchildren, Lester and Ben Wartman, Prior Lake, Minn., Erika, Holly, Wyatt and Bryce Hrudka, Manitowoc, Jeremy and Austin Hrudka, Blaine, Minn., Jason Hoeffner, Manitowoc, Eric, Kellie and Brian Salkowski, Manitowoc, Nathan, Matthew, Seth, Tyler and Amber Hoeffner, Manitowoc, Wesley and Hailey Schmidt, Manitowoc. Also surviving are one brother, Reuben Holtz, Milwaukee; one sister, Helen Snyder, Manitowoc; one sister-in-law, Lucille Holtz, Two Rivers, also surviving are many nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter F. Hoeffner; a twin brother, Ervin Holtz; other brothers, Norman, Eugene and Gerhardt Holtz. She is also preceded in death by sisters, Nora Haese, Elsie Musil and Anna Skarda; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charles Hoefner, Edmund Hoeffner, Norbert Hoeffner, Hertha Waack, Hilda Buck, Dora Klusmeyer and Norma Reichard.

Relatives and friends may call at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1712 Menasha Ave., Manitowoc, from 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2001, until the time of services at 11 a.m.
