R.B. (Bob) Ethridge who lived south of Kempner five miles passed away Monday, January 15. His body was found in the barn at his home, hanging by a wire, by relatives. A note in his pocket stated that he feared he would never be well again and did not want to be a burden on his people and hence chose that way of leaving this life. He had been in poor health for about a year.. Prior to that time he had been very active and always well. He was a man of cheerful disposition and was like by all who knew him.
Mr. Ethridge was a native of Lampasas county, having been born only a short distance from the home where he died. He was 68 years of age, having been born November 12, 1865. He was never married, and leaves two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Ira Grantham and interment was in the Ethridge cemetery, near his home place.
