Mr. Wyatt was a graduate of Northwestern State University. He was a State Representative from 1948-1952. He served with the Winn Parish School System for 41 years as a teacher, coach and administrator. He was a former member of Masonic Lodge and a member of First United Methodist Church.
He was survived by his wife, Faris Wyatt of Winnfield; two sons, Thomas J. Wyatt of Shreveport and Robert Wyatt of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Virgie Williams of Georgetown and Dorothy Wieser of St. Louis, MO; and 6 grandchildren.
