Betty Lou Acord Sigmon, 87, of Glen Fork, went to be with her Lord on Saturday May 4, 2019at Bowers Hospice House.

Born January 1, 1932 in Logan County she was the daughter of the late Charley Clyde Stepp and Alpha Paynter Stepp.

Betty was the oldest member of the Glen Fork Baptist Temple where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years and held several other positions in the church. Betty loved her church and community. She was “Grandmother” to her community. Betty was a 1948 graduate of Oceana High School and served as Miss Oceana in 1948. Betty was the first Curb Girl in Wyoming county, working for her brother at Johnny’s Drive In.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Denny Acord Jr.; son, Jody Acord; brothers and sisters, Johnny Stepp, Sue Stepp and James ‘”Jim” Stepp.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, James “Jim” Sigmon; son, Gregory “Mark” Acord of Tampa FL; daughter, Kathy Parnell and her husband Larry of Rural Retreat VA; brothers, Clyde Stepp and Harold Stepp; grandchildren who called her Mamaw Teddy Bear, Gregory Sean Acord, Jason Francis, Jill Francis Livingston, Shannon Acord, Jessica Francis Yniquez, Aaron Acord. Justin Acord, Molly Sigmon and Chloe Sigmon; step grandchild, Larry Parnell III; great grandchildren, Paige, Jonathan, Mia, Jacob, Aiden, Austin, Devin, Ryan, Penelope, Evan, Jackson and Sage.
