Cyril J. Miller Sr. Cyril J. "Squeak" Miller Sr., 73, of Lake Heritage, Gettysburg, died Friday. July 30 at his home. Born August 8, 1925 in McSherrystown, he was the son of the late Ethel Adaline Hirt and James W. Miller. He is survived by his wife of 51 years. Mary Rorrer Miller. Mr. Miller helped organize and was the first Cubmaster for Boy Scout Troop 108 at St. Vincent's Catholic Church. He was an avid motorcyclist and gardener, and was a member of the McSherrystown Home Association and Bonneauville Catholic War Veterans. During World War II he served in the Army with the 511 Parachute Infantry llth Airborne. He was also a member of the Army Occupation in Japan. Before his retirement, Mr. Miller was a mechanic for the former Valley Motors for 33 years. In addition to his wife, Mr. Miller is survived by a son, Cyril J. Miller of Decatur, ; two daughters, Mary Miller of New Oxford, and Veronica Miller of Hanover; 11 grandchildren; a brother, James "Jake" Miller of McSherrystown; and five sisters, Marie "Sis" Busbey, Mary Lou Smith and Barbara Bixler of Hanover, Marion Bange of Camp Hill, and Ethel Ernst of Staunton, Va. He was predeceased by a son, Michael M. Miller. Funeral services will be held at a.m., Tuesday, August 3 at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover, with his nephew, Rev. Anthony Miller of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, York, and Rev. Garry Sheaffer of Bethel Assembly of God, Littlestown, officiating. Interment will be in Annunciation Cemetery. The Allied Veterans Council will provide full military honors. Pallbearers will be Cyril J. Miller Jr.. Tom Miller, Joe Benner, Andy Reiker, Dustin Benner, George Reiker and Skip Messinger. Friends may call from to a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. There will be no viewing. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, 2040 Linglestown Road
