William “Bill” Cook, 59, of Crown, departed this life Sunday, November 14, 2010, from his home, after a courageous battle with cancer with his loving wife by his side. Bill was an auto body tech formerly employed with Gilbert Body Shop at Gilbert. An avid outdoorsman, Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and digging ginseng.

He was born February 7, 1951, at Gilbert, a son of the late PFC Norris Cook, Sr. (1916-1995) and Mavis Vanover-Cook-Nutter (1927-1989). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jeremy William Cook (1975-1991); and two brothers, Randall K. Cook (Deceased) and Oley Lewis Cook (1973-2003).

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 17 years, Robin Booth-Cook of Crown; one daughter, Kristi Cook-Hatfield of Beckley; one stepson, Nick Booth of Crown; sisters and brothers, Lynn Cook-Stallsmith of Brenton, Claudette Cook-Justice of FL, Frank Cook & wife Bonita Cook of North Springs, Patrick Nutter & wife Tina Nutter of Richmond, VA, and Rowlena Cook-Browning, Bertha Cook-Cline, and Eloise Cook, all of Gilbert; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sherri Brown & husband Russell Brown of Davin, Susan Klontz & husband Tim Klontz of Bucyrus, OH, Norman Booth & wife Mary Ann Booth of Cyclone, and David Booth & Cathy Booth of Amherstdale; many nieces and nephews; his faithful companion, Chipper; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Freddie Clay and Rev. Norman Booth, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
