Wanda Agee Albrecht, 69, of New Canton, died April 29, 2019 at her home. She was born April 13, 1950, in Buckingham County, a daughter of the late Bunny and Agnes Agee.

Wanda was a kind, loving person who was always ready with a smile, hug and warm welcome, whether she saw you on her mail route, at church or in a local store. She always made time to make someone feel loved. Wanda loved animals, it didn’t matter if it was tame or wild, she loved it. She was even known to have rescued a possum from being smashed on the highway.

She was a rural mail carrier for over 10 years. Wanda had been a member of the Arvonia Unit of the Buckingham County Volunteer Rescue Squad. Wanda was an active member of the Buckingham Chamber of Commerce and had served on the Board of Directors.

She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Gary G. Albrecht; sons, Robby Elgin and Timmy Elgin; step-daughters, Amanda Williams, Elise Lanham and Tammy Gerken; brother, Robert Agee Jr. and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Bunny and Agnes Agee; sister, Lois Shuman; infant brother, Joe Gilbert Agee and step-daughter, Tara Mason.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at the Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn with interment in the Wright Family Cemetery.
